Our stages

Åbo Svenska Teater has two main stages: the glittering Main stage in neoclassical style with 367 seats, and the intimate Studio stage with 100 seats. Additionally, smaller performances are held on the café stage Tiljan. Our theater also functions as a regional theater and tours with performances in Åboland, in Västra Nyland, and in Åland. Therefore, we often refer to the regional theater as our fourth stage.

It is possible to rent the theater’s premises for private events.

The Main stage

The auditorium is divided into four ticket categories: A, B, C, and D seats. Price Group II (B seats) may have restricted view/comfort. Price Group III (C seats) has varying view or comfort (seats no. 255-263, 280-288, 333, 334, 349, 350 are bar stools). Price Group VI (D seats) has both restricted view and comfort.

Our own performances on the Main stage are subtitled in Finnish and/or Swedish. The subtitles are not visible from row 1 in the auditorium.

There is space for four wheelchairs on the floor.

The main entrance to the Main stage is located at the Market Square, the address is Auragatan 10. Accessible entrance is available in the Thalia Quarter in the Hansa Shopping Center, next to our ticket office.

The Studio stage

The Studio stage, also known as the Studio, has a auditorium with about 100 seats. On this stage, we perform smaller plays, giving the audience a more intimate theater experience. The Studio stage is located in the so-called Bagarhuset, and the entrance to it is in Antintalo in the Hansa shopping center. The stage is on the fourth floor and the address is Eerikinkatu 13.

Tiljan

On our café stage Tiljan, we organize smaller performances such as music acts and stand-up shows. The room accommodates 98 customers. Tiljan is accessible either through the main entrance at the Market Square, Aurakatu 10, or via Eerikinkatu 13A, depending on the performance. Tiljan is located on the second floor.
