“For those who pick a speck of light and hold it in the palm of their hand”
This interactive woodland story aimed at 3-7-year-olds is based on the collection of evening stories by Kaisa Happonen and Anne Vasko, to be published in August 2024.
Happonen’s stories have a gentle philosophy that open up our senses to the twilight, the trees in the forest, and the existence of birds, the arctic fox, and other forest animals. In the midst of all the action stands a small bear, Mur. The themes of togetherness and being separate touch upon love and longing. As we examine the other, we learn about ourselves. And we realize that there’s light everywhere, even in the darkness.
“Especially during the dark nights, the Raven reminisced, because whatever was visible in the dark was visible. And whatever the Raven couldn’t see, he could imagine.”
